Why you shouldn’t use Cetaphil

I try not to bash other products and just promote the great ones. However, I have to put this out there or I’m not gonna be able to sleep. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I was talking to someone the other day and we were talking about dry skin, etc and she says “that’s why I use Cetaphil” I almost died! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Stop using Cetaphil and here’s why. For many years Cetaphil and dermatologist have promoted this as a gentle cleanser for sensitive skin. Which is so incorrect. Here’s the problem I see….. when reading the ingredients after water, they are all manufactured chemicals, which in my opinion are not gentle. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These ingredients include 3 different parabens (known to cause endocrine disruption and linked to breast cancer), propylene glycol (increases chemical penetration into your skin and bloodstream) and sodium lauryl sulfate (known to cause skin irritation). Additionally, ethylene oxide is often added to sodium lauryl sulfate in order to make the chemical less irritating to skin and hair. This process creates a byproduct called 1,4-dioxane, a known carcinogen. Exposure can be toxic to the brain, liver and kidneys. 😳 you may not see these effects now but in the long term you will. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Why not use a product that is beneficial to your skin? If you have acne, use an acne product, etc. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

So what’s one to do with their Cetaphil? PLACE IT IN THE TRASH and ask your esthetician for the product you need. 💜
